Introductions:
Community Updates:
· Tom Jones- 97th District State Representative
o Represents 67,000 people.
o Most people that enter the office are referred to organizations within the community. Most that come in the government can’t help or shouldn’t help.
o 7:15am at Gus’s Pastor’s Breakfast on Tuesday 5/9.
o 7:30am on Thursdays prayer at his office from 7:45 to 8:30.
Informational Updates:
· United Churches Elizabethtown Area (UCEA)- Doug Lamb
o Community Cupboard
§ Served over 75 families and over 100 individuals.
§ Now has a way to digitally check in clients, connected with the Central PA Food Bank and they have direct access to data of who we serve.
o Delegate Meeting
§ Music Therapy Organization will be moving into the Brick Building will be sharing.
§ If you’re church is interested in being apart of UCEA as a delegate, please reach out.
§ GO Church will be sharing. They have been meeting in the Brick Building
o Clothing Barn
§ Hired a coordinator for the she starts this month.
§ Looking to move it to the new building, to empty space on the first floor.
§ Served 158 Adults and a handful of children this year so far.
· ECHOS- Doug Lamb
o Have a 300k grant for upgrading the White House for 4 apartments.
· Police Chaplaincy- Doug Lamb
o Has been dissolved, the police chiefs have been unable to dedicate time to organize a chaplaincy.
· EACTC
o Club Ophelia
o After School Homework Helpers (accountability for students with adults).
· Catalyst Ministries- Gina McNally
o Focus on serving children in the life skills lane. Training them in basic life skills. Woodworking, cooking, small engine repair, and more.
o In the process of purchasing 29 S. Market St. [old Now Wear This building]
§ Had the variance approval.
§ Moving forward with requesting funding to be released in NY.
· Worship in the Park- Don Lamb
o About 5 churches are worshiping together then going out in the community to do projects to help upgrade borough locations (fence painting, mulching at the park, misc. clean up)
o Other outreach and worship meetings throughout the summer as well, look for flyer in email.
· Etown Ministerium- Doug Lamb
o Block Party September 9th 1:30-4pm
o May 22nd next meeting for planning.
· Everence Financial- Lynette Morales
o Running a special on savings accounts for churches and non-profits.
· Upcoming Events
o May 18th Pastors Prayer and Spiritual Enrichment, 8:30 at Etown Mennonite.
o June 1st Social Outreach and Planning Meeting, 9am at CPOW. This will be our last meeting for the summer. Meetings will resume in September.
