·         Welcome & Prayer

o    We had our first meeting in the new Social Services Conference room. This was very exciting.

·         Introductions

·         Community Updates: Mayor and Police Chief

o    Elizabethtown Borough Mayor – Chuck Mummert

o    Gave us a greeting and update. Elizabethtown continues to be a community of caring and supportive people.  Mayor has lived in Elizabethtown all his life.

o   Elizabethtown Borough Police Chief- Ed Cunningham

o   Progress being made with the Second Chance program.  It started two years ago and is in every police department in Lancaster County.  It will be starting in Berks County later April and will start in Dauphin county later this year.  

o   The Department is looking to hire two more police officers.

o   While things are busy there are a lot of positive things happening in our town.  He thanks all the churches for their prayers and support.

·         Informative Updates:

o    Elizabethtown Area Communities That Care- Gail Viscome

o   Updates about the School mentoring program on Thursdays @ 1:45 – 3:30 pm at the Middle School. Helping Students with homework and study hall.

o   Drug overdoses were up in 2021 by 40% in Lancaster County from 92 to 143.  We want to see this end and more people get the support they need.

o   The student survey for 2021 will be coming out in April.

o    The Community Cupboard of Elizabethtown

o   Continues to thrive with many food intakes in December.  Our monthly family count is averaging around 120.  In 2021 we served 1,131 households.  2, 174 volunteer hours.

o    ECHOS- Wendy Stivers

o   The Winter shelter is going very strong with over 800 bed nights so far. Much higher than any other year. 

o   The Apartments will be utilized very soon as applications will be sent out this month.  The program they are focused on  -is for the handicap and veteran over 55.  They are pleased with the support of all the churches and volunteers that help make the programs function.

o    Police Chaplaincy- Doug Lamb

o   We are looking for some new participation, since we lost two great chaplains in 2021.

o    Elizabethtown Ministerium- Doug Lamb

o   There are plans underway for the Carry The Cross event in April.  Update will be given soon.

o   There are plans to do the Block Party for the community in September.

o   We honored three pastors for their service,  pastor Conrad Kanagy – retired in December,  Pastor Daleen Charles who retired in January and pastor Mick Allen who will also retire here in February.

o    Everence Financial- Lynette Morales

o   Everence Stewardship University will be in March.  If people sign up by Feb. 7th, they will get $ 10.00 off.

***Please note that starting in March Ministerium Outreach Meetings will consistently be held at CPOW’s newest building so pastors are able to interact with the providers on the campus.***
